The case for a broker
Why go through a broker at all?
Costiva takes your gas, electricity and water contracts to the market to the market rather than accepting whatever renewal letter turns up. Two kinds of customer get the most out of that: groups with a lot of sites, and businesses that burn a lot of electricity. Both give us something to negotiate with.
- Suppliers keep their sharpest rates for the market, not for the phone
- One conversation instead of a dozen supplier calls
- The more sites in the group, the more weight behind every quote
- The heavier the load, the more a fraction of a penny per kWh is worth
- Nothing drifts past its end date onto default rates
Who it's for
Who We're Built For
Whilst we service single-unit operators, we specialise in franchises and multi-unit operators: the businesses most likely to have contracts scattered across sites, signed at different times, with renewal dates nobody has been tracking. We bring the whole estate together and take the admin off your desk.
The difference it makes
Running It Yourself vs Running It With Us
Nothing here is complicated. It's just a lot of small jobs that nobody in a multi-site business has time to do properly.
On your own
- Ringing suppliers one at a time, one meter at a time
- Every site negotiating alone, on its own small volume
- Renewal dates sitting in somebody's inbox
- A site slips past its end date onto out-of-contract rates
- Termination letters, LOAs and meter data to chase yourself
- No single record of what the estate is actually paying
With Costiva
- One conversation, priced across the whole supplier panel
- Sites quoted together, so the group's volume does the work
- Every end date in our diary, flagged nine months out
- Nothing rolls over — we're in the market before it can
- The paperwork and the chasing sit with us, not you
- One record of every meter, rate and end date across the estate
Gas, electricity and water — half-hourly and non-half-hourly, fixed or flexible — and a named contact who already has your meter data. Free to your business: our commission comes from the supplier, and the amount is put in writing before anything is signed.
How it works
From First Call to Signed Contract
Send us a recent bill
One bill per site is enough to start. It tells us the supplier, the meter type and roughly what you're paying.
We take your volume to the panel
Your sites are priced together rather than one at a time, across every supplier we can reach.
You see it all side by side
A plain comparison, your current rate included, so staying put is always a visible option.
We take it from there — and keep the diary
We handle the changeover with your incoming supplier and stay on it until the meter is live, then the renewal goes in the diary. Your part ends at the signature.
Nothing to pay, nothing to sign
You won't be charged for using us. Clear, tailored quotes with zero pressure to commit — if it isn't right for your business, you walk away.
Quotes you can actually read
You'll never be left wondering what you've signed up for. We set out the options plainly, including what you pay today, with no hidden fees.
No supplier owns our recommendation
We search the whole panel of UK suppliers to find the right deal. No upselling, no favourites — just the numbers as they land.
You stay out of the admin
We handle everything from comparison to contract, across every site, so you're not chasing quotes or wrestling with paperwork.
Why Choose Costiva

That's the whole ask. Send us a recent bill and we'll come back inside 24 hours with what the panel says — including whether you're better off staying where you are.
Straight answers
The Things People Ask On The First Call
What does this actually cost me?
You don't pay us. Our commission comes from whichever supplier you end up with, collected through the contract you sign — that's how the market works, ours included. The amount is in writing before anything is signed, and you can ask us for it at any point.
Our sites are on different suppliers with different end dates — is that a problem?
It's the normal starting point, and it's the situation we're built around. We start by mapping every meter and every end date, then bring sites onto the market as their contracts fall due. Aligning an estate usually takes a cycle or two — it isn't done in one go, and anyone telling you otherwise is guessing.
What if we'd rather not move?
Then you don't move. Plenty of the time the right answer is a better contract with the supplier you already have, and occasionally it's that your current rate is fine and you should leave it alone. We'd rather tell you that and keep the renewal date in the diary than talk you into something.
How long should we allow for all this?
Suppliers are the bottleneck. Getting your consumption data back from them typically takes a fortnight. Quotes follow within a few days of that. The switch itself doesn't happen until your current contract actually ends, so the calendar is mostly set by your existing end dates rather than by us.
Does anything go off while this happens?
Nothing goes off. You're changing who bills you, not how power reaches the building — the same cables and pipes serve the site either way. No engineer visit, no meter swap, no downtime.
Do we have to ring our current supplier ourselves?
No — that's the point of the Letter of Authority. It's your written permission for us to ask your suppliers about your accounts, and once it's signed we do the talking. It commits you to nothing, and it does not give us the power to sign a contract in your name.
Could we get stung with exit fees?
Not if the timing is right, which is the whole reason we track end dates. Walking out of a business energy contract early can carry a termination charge, so we work to each site's existing end date instead of breaking anything. If a site is already out of contract, there's usually nothing to exit at all.
