Short version: this website doesn't use cookies. That isn't a slogan — it's why you haven't been shown a banner.
What we checked. The whole site is a single page. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, makes no requests to any other company while you read it, and runs no analytics or advertising code. There is nothing to consent to, so we don't interrupt you to ask.
A cookie is a small file a website saves on your device so it can recognise you later. They are useful for things like keeping you logged in. They are also how most sites follow you around the internet.
UK law — the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations — says a site must ask your permission before storing anything on your device, unless it is strictly necessary to provide what you asked for. It is because most sites store far more than that that you see a banner almost everywhere.
| Thing | Do we use it? |
|---|---|
| Cookies | No — none, of any kind |
| Local storage or session storage | No |
| Analytics (Google Analytics or similar) | No |
| Advertising or retargeting pixels | No |
| Facebook, LinkedIn or X tracking tags | No |
| Embedded videos, maps or social feeds | No |
| Fonts loaded from Google | No — see below |
Most sites load their fonts from Google, which means your browser quietly tells Google which page you are reading. Ours are embedded directly in the page as data. Nothing is requested from Google, or from anyone else, while you look at this site.
It does two things: it puts the current year in the copyright line at the bottom, and it closes one FAQ answer when you open another. It stores nothing and sends nothing anywhere.
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web server, theirs keeps standard logs of requests — including IP addresses — to keep the service running and secure. These are server records, not cookies, and nothing is stored on your device. We do not use them to identify or profile visitors.
Nothing happens until you press send. When you do, what you typed — and any file you attached — is passed to Netlify, Inc. in the United States, which stores the submission and emails it to us. That is a transfer outside the UK and it is covered in our privacy policy. Handling a submission does not put anything on your device from this site.
If you would rather not use the form, email energy@costiva.co.uk directly.
There is nothing to switch off here, but you can manage cookies from other sites in your browser settings — usually under Privacy. The Information Commissioner's Office has plain guidance at ico.org.uk/for-the-public/online/cookies.
If we ever add analytics, advertising or anything else that stores information on your device, we will ask for your consent before it runs, and we will update this page. We will not quietly turn tracking on and rely on you not noticing.
Email energy@costiva.co.uk. Our privacy policy covers what we do with information more broadly.
